Description
The complete cooling and exhaust extraction kit for GearGB Vanguard V-twin generators installed inside a shed, cabinet or plant room. It contains the 400mm axial extractor fan (315mm on single-cylinder models), the flexible ducting and the louvre vent grilles needed to move hot air out and draw cool air in.
A generator in a small enclosure will overheat without it. These sets carry an air temperature sensor: once the cooling air reaches 50°C the unit shuts down and flashes an over-temperature warning on the Deep Sea control panel. In an auto-start installation that means the generator stops answering the call for power — exactly when it is needed.
Fit it as shown in the Static Installation & Ventilation Guide attached below: air drawn in through a vent of at least 450mm, generator no more than 1000mm from the intake, hot air extracted through the fan on the opposite side.
Features & Benefits
- Keeps an enclosed generator running — without extraction the set cuts out at 50°C cooling-air temperature and will not restart until it cools.
- 400mm axial extractor fan sized for Vanguard V-twin engines (315mm supplied for single-cylinder models).
- Complete kit — fan, flexible ducting and louvre vent grilles together, rather than sourcing parts piecemeal.
- Essential for auto-start installations where nobody is present to notice an over-temperature shutdown.
- Installation guide included — download the Static Installation & Ventilation Guide from the Manuals tab for the required clearances and airflow layout.
- Large, well-ventilated building? You may only need the exhaust extension pipe. Small shed or cabinet? You need this kit.
An exhaust extension pipe is required in addition to this kit. If the enclosure is big enough to walk into, a carbon monoxide alarm must also be fitted.
