Description
The Infernus 17L countertop gas fryer brings full commercial frying power to a catering trailer, takeaway, pub or café kitchen without giving up floor space. Two baskets let you fry two portions side by side, so chips and battered items can go in together during a rush.
A 5.55kW LPG burner and a 160–220°C thermostat keep the oil at temperature, pilot ignition keeps it simple to light, and a flame failure device shuts off the gas if the flame goes out. A front drain valve makes emptying the tank at the end of the day straightforward.
It is the bigger step up from our 12L countertop fryer. This model runs on LPG only and must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Frequently asked questions
How much LPG does it use?
About 450g of LPG an hour at its full 5.55kW, according to the manual. That gives roughly 42 hours of full burner time from a 19kg cylinder, and real use is usually lower because the thermostat cycles the burner. Our LPG run time calculator works it out for your whole setup.
Should I choose this or the twin tank?
Choose this single tank if you fry one type of food at a time. The twin tank model keeps foods in separate oil and runs each tank at its own temperature, but it is 980mm wide against 505mm here. If space is tighter still, the 12L single tank is 340mm wide and 3.7kW.
Can this fryer run on natural gas?
No. This model is for LPG only and must not be connected to natural gas. If your site is on natural gas, call us on 01923 559 077 before you order.
What gas pressure and regulator does it need?
It is rated at 28 mbar (2800Pa), so it needs a regulator to match. The standard 37 mbar propane regulator used on some other fryers is not interchangeable. Your Gas Safe engineer should confirm the regulator when commissioning.
Who can install it?
It must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We supply the fryer only, so book your own engineer before it arrives.
How do I light it?
Open the gas supply and turn the thermostat off. Push in the pilot valve knob and light the pilot, hold the knob for about 60 seconds, then release it and turn it to ON. Set the thermostat, and the main burner lights. If the pilot goes out, wait 5 minutes before you try again. Our LPG fryer set-up guide covers this step by step.
How do I empty and clean it?
The tank has a front drain valve. Let the oil cool to a safe temperature first, then drain it into a suitable container. Oil that is too cold can stop draining, so do not leave it to set. Before first use, wash the tank with hot soapy water to remove the protective factory oil. See our guide to cleaning a fryer and changing the oil.
What warranty does it have?
12 months parts. Labour is not included.
