Jetinno JL37 vs JL38 Bean to Cup: One Hopper or Two, Fresh or Powdered Milk

Jetinno JL38B bean to cup coffee machine with 10.1-inch touchscreen and fresh milk system

Last updated: October 2026

In 30 seconds:

  • The Jetinno JL37 has one grinder and a 1.7kg bean hopper, so you serve one house coffee. The JL38 has two grinders and two 1.2kg hoppers, so you can offer two coffees, such as a house blend and a decaf.
  • Both come in three milk versions: B (fresh milk), A-S3 (fresh milk, steam wand and powders) and C (powdered milk only).
  • All six are recommended for up to 200 cups a day, need a 3.1kW electrical supply and cost from £4,859 to £5,769 including VAT.
  • Pick the milk system first, then the number of coffees. Most buying mistakes come from getting the milk wrong.

Will anyone ever ask you for decaf? That one question settles half of the JL37 versus JL38 decision before you look at a single spec.

The Jetinno JL37 and JL38 are high-capacity bean to cup coffee machines for offices, hotels, cafés, convenience stores and self-service sites. They are the same size of machine with the same touchscreen, boilers and pumps. The difference is how many coffees you offer and how you handle milk.

This guide compares all six versions we sell, so you can match one to your site before you spend around £5,000.

What every JL37 and JL38 shares

Under the skin, these six machines are the same platform. That makes the choice simpler than it looks.

Quick specs (all six models)

  • Capacity: recommended for up to 200 cups a day
  • Menu: 30+ drinks on a 10.1-inch Android touchscreen
  • Brewing: dual boilers and dual pumps for fast back-to-back drinks
  • Power: a suitable electrical supply rated for 3.1kW
  • Payment: MDB, QR and cashless payment compatible, for self-service
  • Access: multi-level user access and multi-language screens
  • Warranty: 12 months on-site parts and labour

Each machine grinds, brews and handles the milk itself. Espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte and flat white come out the same way every time, with no barista.

The price also covers installation, programming and commissioning by qualified engineers, plus a staff demonstration. That is how the machines are supplied, so there is nothing extra to arrange.

One hopper or two: JL37 or JL38?

The JL37: one signature coffee

The JL37 has a single commercial grinder with a large 1.7kg bean hopper. Every drink uses the same beans.

That suits most offices and many cafés. One good house blend, served well, keeps things simple to stock and set up.

The JL38: two coffees on the menu

The JL38 has two grinders and two 1.2kg hoppers. Customers choose between two coffees at the screen.

The obvious use is a house blend plus a decaf. You could also run a darker roast next to a lighter one, or a guest bean that changes each month.

What the second hopper costs

On like-for-like milk versions, the JL38 costs from £160 to £270 more than the JL37. On a machine of this price, that is a small step for a wider menu.

Each JL38 hopper holds 1.2kg, against 1.7kg in the JL37’s single hopper. If you only ever serve one blend, the JL37 keeps things simple.

Fresh milk, steam wand or powder: B, A-S3 or C?

This is the bigger decision. The milk system decides who has to look after the machine each day.

B models: automatic fresh milk

  • Automatic fresh-milk frothing, with hot and cold milk drinks
  • 4-litre milk fridge and milk container included
  • Best for staffed sites where someone keeps the fridge filled and cleaned
  • Prices: JL37B from £5,339, JL38B from £5,499.

A-S3 models: fresh milk plus a steam wand and powders

  • Everything the B model does, plus a manual steam wand
  • The wand has a programmable auto-off temperature, so staff can texture oat, soya and other non-dairy milks by hand
  • Two 2-litre soluble canisters for hot chocolate and other powdered drinks
  • Prices: JL37A-S3 from £5,499, JL38A-S3 from £5,769.

C models: powdered milk, nothing to chill

  • A powdered milk and chocolate system, so there is no fresh milk to store
  • Two 2-litre soluble canisters
  • No milk fridge needed, and none supplied
  • Prices: JL37C from £4,859, JL38C from £5,019.

Fresh milk makes the richer latte. Powdered milk wins wherever nobody is on hand to keep milk cold and the milk system clean.

Who each version suits

  • Office with one team: JL37B. Fresh milk, one house coffee, and the lowest-priced fresh-milk JL37 or JL38.
  • Hotel breakfast room: JL38B. Guests expect decaf, and staff are around to look after the milk.
  • Café with plant-milk customers: JL37A-S3 or JL38A-S3. The steam wand handles oat and soya, and the canisters add hot chocolate.
  • Forecourt or 24-hour self-service: JL37C or JL38C. No fresh milk to go off overnight.
  • The most versatile site: JL38A-S3. Two coffees, fresh milk, a steam wand and two powder canisters.

Expect fewer than 75 drinks a day? Look at the compact JL30 and JL31B on our Jetinno bean to cup coffee machines range page instead. Both are built for up to 75 cups a day.

See the Jetinno JL37B and the Jetinno JL38B for the full specification of the two fresh-milk models.

What you need on site

  • Power: a suitable electrical supply for the machine’s 3.1kW rating, in place before the installation visit.
  • Water: a mains water connection where the machine will go, if you want it plumbed in.
  • Space for milk: room beside the machine for the milk fridge on B and A-S3 models.
  • Water treatment: recommended to protect the machine from scale. It is not included in the price.
  • Daily time: someone to top up beans and powders, and to refill and clean the milk system on fresh-milk models.

Installation is to water and power supplies already in place at your site. Get those sorted first, and the visit goes smoothly.

The biggest mistake: buying fresh milk for an unattended site

Fresh milk sounds like the premium choice, so many buyers tick it by default. Then nobody owns the milk fridge.

On a staffed hotel or café counter, that is fine. On a forecourt, in a 24-hour lounge or in a quiet office, milk runs out or sits too long. Customers then meet an empty or unclean milk system.

If no one will check the fridge every day, choose a C model. It also costs £480 less than the matching B model.

The second mistake is skipping the hot chocolate. The B models have no powder canisters. If you want hot chocolate from the machine, choose an A-S3 or a C model.

Paying for it

You can pay outright and own the machine from day one. Or you can spread the cost with lease finance, available on orders over £1,000, so every JL37 and JL38 qualifies.

Lease finance means you buy the machine and pay for it over time.

Jetinno JL37 vs JL38: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Jetinno JL37 and JL38?

The JL37 has one grinder and one 1.7kg bean hopper, so it serves one coffee. The JL38 has two grinders and two 1.2kg hoppers, so customers can choose between two coffees, such as a house blend and a decaf. Otherwise they share the same touchscreen, dual boilers and dual pumps.

How many cups a day can the JL37 and JL38 make?

Both are recommended for up to 200 cups a day. Dual boilers and dual pumps keep drinks coming quickly at busy times. For under 75 cups a day, the smaller JL30 and JL31B are the better fit.

What do the letters B, A-S3 and C mean?

B models use automatic fresh milk, with hot and cold milk drinks. A-S3 models add a manual steam wand and two soluble canisters for powdered drinks. C models use powdered milk and two soluble canisters, so there is no fresh milk to store.

Which Jetinno model is best for a self-service or unattended site?

A C model, either the JL37C or the JL38C. They use powdered milk, so nothing needs keeping chilled. They are also MDB, QR and cashless payment compatible, like every JL37 and JL38.

Can the JL37 and JL38 make oat milk drinks?

Yes, on the A-S3 models. The JL37A-S3 and JL38A-S3 have a manual steam wand with a programmable auto-off temperature. Staff use it to texture oat, soya and other non-dairy milks by hand.

Does the Jetinno JL37 come with a milk fridge?

The fresh-milk versions do. The JL37B and JL37A-S3 include a 4-litre milk fridge and milk container. The JL37C uses powdered milk, so it does not need a milk fridge.

What power supply does a JL37 or JL38 need?

A suitable electrical supply rated for 3.1kW. A mains water connection is needed too if you want it plumbed in. Both supplies must be in place before installation.

Is installation included in the price?

Yes. Installation, programming and commissioning by qualified engineers are included, along with a staff demonstration. The warranty is 12 months on-site parts and labour.
