Description

The Magister Stilo ES100 is a 2-group automatic espresso machine with a curved, painted grey body, made in Magister’s factory near Milan and fitted with the gas heating kit so its 11-litre boiler heats on LPG. With the gas doing the heating, the pump, controls and auto-fill draw only around 200W, so a small inverter or generator runs it comfortably in a van or trailer.

It is the step up in looks from the HRC, with a programmable automatic hot water dispenser and an auto-fill that protects the boiler if the water runs low, which matters when you are running from a tank. Two groups, two steam wands and programmable shot volumes keep a queue moving.

Buying the machine only

The machine is designed for a mains water feed. In a van or trailer, run it from the water containers supplied with a Flojet pump, and fit a water filter to protect the boiler from scale. You can add both in the options above. Like every LPG appliance in a catering vehicle, it must be connected and commissioned by a Gas Safe engineer registered for mobile and commercial catering (CMC and COMCAT 2), who will issue the gas safety certificate you need to trade. The machine-only price includes 12 months parts warranty.

Powering the electrics

Neither option includes a battery or inverter. On gas the machine draws only around 200W, so you can run it from a 12V leisure battery and a 1kW inverter (tick them in the options above), or from a portable power station. Does it run on gas or electric?
The boiler heats on LPG (propane). The pump, controls and auto-fill still need power, about 200W, which a small inverter or generator supplies.

How long does it take to heat up?
About 30 minutes from cold when running on gas.

Can I use it without mains water?
Yes. In a vehicle you run it from a water tank with a Flojet pump. The fully installed option includes the pump and a water filter.

Where do you install?

What if my vehicle has no gas pipework?

What warranty do I get?
Fully installed: 12 months parts and labour. Machine only: 12 months parts.

With the fully installed option, yes.
