Warranty & Returns Policy – Gas / LPG (Propane) Catering Equipment
About MobCater
MobCater is an authorised distributor of professional catering equipment from a wide range of trusted UK and international manufacturers.
All items sold through MobCater are brand new, supplied directly from the manufacturer, and dispatched in good faith that each appliance operates in accordance with the manufacturer’s published specifications and safety guidelines. As a distributor, we do not manufacture or modify any equipment. All warranty and technical support processes are governed by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Gas & LPG Equipment – Installation Requirements
For safety and legal compliance, all Gas and LPG (Propane) appliances supplied for mobile or outdoor catering use must be installed and tested by a qualified Gas Safe Engineer holding COMCAT and LPG certification.
Before use, the engineer must:
- Correctly fit and test the appliance.
- Verify gas pressures and burner operation.
- Provide a Gas Safe installation certificate or equivalent commissioning report.
- Failure to have equipment professionally fitted and certified may invalidate the warranty and breach UK gas safety regulations.
Warranty Process
All LPG and mobile catering equipment is supplied with a parts-only commercial warranty, unless otherwise stated. This is standard across the catering industry due to the nature of off-grid and mobile use.
If a fault occurs:
- Inspection by Gas Engineer – A qualified LPG engineer must inspect the unit and identify the suspected fault or part requiring replacement.
- Engineer’s Fault Report – The engineer provides a written report confirming the fault, the affected components, and whether the issue appears to be installation-related, user-related, or a genuine product fault.
- Submit to MobCater – The report is sent to MobCater’s Warranty Department along with proof of installation and serial number details.
- Assessment & Manufacturer Contact – MobCater reviews the documentation and, if valid, contacts the manufacturer to authorise the dispatch of replacement parts, arrange a repair, or escalate the matter for replacement/refund if a manufacturing defect is confirmed.
- Resolution – Once approved, parts are dispatched promptly, or further action is arranged according to the manufacturer’s findings.
- Warranty Terms Alignment – Our warranty terms for LPG/Gas equipment are set up to mirror the manufacturer’s warranty. In practice, this means that the warranty conditions, timeframes, and approval process are set by each manufacturer, not by MobCater.
MobCater’s role is to facilitate and coordinate the process, ensuring that all claims are handled fairly and in line with the manufacturer’s standards.
Returns Policy
Returns are not accepted without prior authorisation. All items are supplied brand new, and any return must follow the warranty procedure.
If a unit is suspected to be faulty:
- Do not send it back without approval — unapproved returns may be refused at the manufacturer’s warehouse and delay resolution.
- Follow the warranty process above so the issue can be properly assessed and logged.
If the manufacturer determines the product to be faulty or not fit for purpose, they may authorise one of the following:
- A replacement,
- A repair, or
- A refund, depending on the case and findings.
Important Notes
All commercial equipment warranties cover parts only, not labour or call-out charges.
Damage caused by incorrect installation, poor maintenance, or user error is not covered under warranty.
The customer is responsible for ensuring the appliance is installed and operated safely and in accordance with UK Gas Safety Regulations.
MobCater acts as the intermediary to ensure all valid warranty claims are processed fairly and efficiently with the manufacturer.

Summary
MobCater supplies quality catering equipment in partnership with trusted manufacturers. All LPG and gas appliances must be installed and tested by a Gas Safe registered LPG/COMCAT engineer. If a fault occurs, an engineer’s report is required to identify the issue before a repair, replacement, or refund can be considered.
This ensures that every case is handled safely, fairly, and in full compliance with UK safety law and manufacturer warranty terms.
