LPG Gas Chargrill & Lava Grills

LPG chargrills are a must-have for all types of catering and mobile catering, offering reliable and high-performance grilling powered by propane. Designed for portability and durability, they are ideal for food trucks, pop-up kitchens, and outdoor events. With even heat distribution and adjustable temperature controls, LPG chargrills ensure perfectly cooked meats, vegetables, and other chargrilled delicacies. Their robust construction and ease of use make them a dependable choice for catering professionals looking to deliver flavorful, high-quality dishes on the go.

The main difference between a chargrill and a lava rock grill lies in how heat is distributed and the type of grilling surface used:

Chargrill:

  • A chargrill typically uses metal burners or ceramic radiant plates to distribute heat directly to the grilling surface.
  • It delivers intense, even heat and is ideal for searing food and achieving those signature grill marks.
  • Chargrills do not use lava rocks; instead, they rely on direct flame and heat radiation for cooking.
  • They are easier to clean since they lack porous materials like lava rocks.

Lava Rock Grill:

  • A lava rock grill incorporates porous lava stones placed above the burners. These stones absorb heat from the flame and radiate it evenly across the cooking surface.
  • Lava rocks also catch drippings from food, which vaporize and create a smoky flavor, giving the food an authentic barbecue taste.
  • While this adds flavor, lava rocks require regular cleaning or replacement to prevent grease buildup and potential flare-ups.

Key Difference:

  • Flavor: Lava rock grills add more smoky, barbecue-style flavor due to vaporized drippings, whereas standard chargrills offer a cleaner, flame-seared taste.
  • Maintenance: Lava rock grills need more upkeep because of the porous stones, while chargrills are simpler to maintain.

Both types are excellent for mobile catering but serve slightly different purposes based on cooking preferences and flavor profiles.
